Restaurant POS Features: Everything Biodux POS does at the till and in the back office.

From the waiter’s PIN to the shift report, here is the complete list. Every feature works in a hotel outlet or a standalone restaurant or bar. 38 features in 7 areas.

Waiters and security

Know who took every order and who touched every bill.

  • PIN or card login

Staff log in on an on-screen keyboard, or with a staff card if you use them.

  • Waiter mode

Each waiter confirms every order with their own card or PIN, so orders are always tied to a person.

  • Rights per action

Placing, viewing, moving, splitting and voiding orders, and selling, are separate permissions.

  • Licensed terminals

Each sales point is tied to its own machine, so nobody installs an extra till without you knowing.

  • Activity trail

Every sale is written to the activity trail with the user and time.

Tables and orders

Built for a busy floor on a Friday night.

  • Tables and covers

Place, view and add to orders by table, with quick screens to pick a table or a waiter.

  • Move tables and orders

Move an order to another table or hand it to another waiter.

  • Split bills

Split an order into several tabs, each with its own subtotal, tax and room service charge.

  • Voids with a paper trail

Voiding needs the right, and a cancelled-order ticket prints naming who cancelled it.

  • Notes to the kitchen

Send preset or free-text messages to the kitchen printer: “table 4 is in a hurry”.

  • Quick sales

Sell straight from the counter without opening a table, or switch that off for outlets that should always use tables.

Kitchen and bar printing

Each station gets only its own tickets.

  • Up to four order printers

Route items to the kitchen, grill, bar or pastry printer by each item’s print location.

  • 58 mm or 80 mm

Choose paper width, number of copies and whether prices appear on order tickets.

  • Your own ticket title

Call it an order ticket, a KOT or a chit. It prints the way your kitchen is used to.

Payments and settlement

Paid, on account or complimentary, and always recorded.

  • Several payments on one bill

Cash, transfer, POS terminal and more on the same bill. Payment methods are yours to define.

  • Charge to room

Pick an in-house guest by name or room number. The charge, service charge and taxes go to their folio.

  • Bed and breakfast

A separate list of B&B guests, so breakfast is recorded against the room, not given away.

  • Accounts

Customer accounts, staff accounts, staff meals and complimentary sales, each recorded separately.

  • Pole display and cash drawer

A customer pole display with your welcome and goodbye messages, and the cash drawer opens on payment.

  • Receipts your way

80 mm or A6 receipts with your logo, three footer notes and the member’s balance.

Shifts, stock and accounts

The sale is only the start. Biodux finishes the paperwork.

  • Open and close shifts

A shift can’t close with unserved orders. The shift report shows served, cancelled and unserved orders, sales and payments.

  • Close day

The back office can’t close the day while any shift is still open.

  • Stock from every sale

Each sale reduces the outlet’s stock. Recipe items take their ingredients out of the kitchen store.

  • Live food cost

Recipe cost is worked out from current ingredient costs, so menu prices can keep up.

  • Books update themselves

Sales, cost of sales, stock, taxes, service charge and guest, customer and staff accounts post to the ledger automatically.

Back office and reports

The reports a food and beverage manager actually reads.

  • Sales reports

By outlet, cashier, sales type, item group and subgroup, plus invoice and receipt lists.

  • Order reports

Served, unserved and cancelled orders, waiter performance and order summaries.

  • Gross profit

Gross profit summary and detail, and your best and worst sellers by volume and by profit.

  • Cash log

Cash by cashier and by department, so every shift reconciles.

  • Stock reports

Outlet stock sheets, balances, movement, bin card, transfers and goods received.

  • Set it up yourself

Items, groups, units, customers, vendors, members, outlets, payment methods and tables are all managed in the back office.
